Long before Joe was rocking out at Red Rocks or mountain biking the Rockies, he was slinging BBQ alongside Ryan at SmokeHouse BBQ—a place where great friendships (and probably a few extra pounds) were formed. While Joe worked the tables and Ryan handled the deliveries, their friendship quickly expanded beyond brisket and burnt ends into a full-fledged, lifelong friendship.
Ryan was instrumental in introducing Joe to the Kansas City crew he still calls friends today. With his endless arsenal of accents, razor-sharp wit, and a talent for turning any outing into an adventure, it didn’t take long for their bond to solidify. Joe, Mark, and Ryan became a trio of good times, and legendary stories—many of which probably can’t be shared in a wedding bio.

Despite the miles between them, Ryan still makes his way to Denver once or twice a year, often timing his trips with Mark’s to ensure maximum fun (or maximum trouble, depending on who you ask). Their friendship keeps evolving, but one thing remains the same—Joe can always count on Ryan. Through thick and thin, brisket and beer, Ryan has been (and always will be) a loyal, authentic friend… and possibly the guy responsible for a few of Joe’s best stories.
